Description
The watch was created as an exercise in producing different textures and surfaces from photographic reference with an airbrush and gouache. The finished artwork was intended purely as a sample for my Portfolio.

In my point of view the leather is has a little bit of plastic look, but that's my opinion. I can not give you anyting less than +7 (thats the highest i'm allowed).

technically a five of five, but artistically i find this very poor.

In answer to Pwyll's comment:
I have already mentioned at the top "The watch was created as an exercise in producing different textures and surfaces from photographic reference with an airbrush and gouache". It was never intended as a great artistic masterpiece it was an illustration produced to improve my technical/airbrush abilities. Reproducing photographic reference with an airbrush and paint is a great way to become familiar with textures and reflections.
In answer to Zin’s comment:
There isn’t a full res version of the artwork as it exists as paint on board in my portfolio, the full size artwork is on A3 art board.
Cheers,
Rob.

very well executed, though not too much for the composition side of things, that aside, as a texture study, you did pretty well. i'd definately like to see some of your learnings used on a composition

One thing I would say is that the golden marks for the 12, 15, 30, 45 are not in alignment. This makes the edges look a little off. If you were to look straight down on the watch the 12 and 30 would be a little more over to the right than they should be and the 15 and 45 would be a little lower than they should be.
But other than that, this is a great piece! You should be proud!

I am blown away. The photorealism of this piece, the textures, the lighting, THE DIALS AND DETAILS OF THE WATCH FACE. Wow. This is purely incredible. Veru worthy of recognition. You should pat yourself on the back. This is a masterpiece. Look at how many people are already blown away.
You started a following with this one.
